1. PRIVACY & SECURITY

We respect your right to privacy and through this policy seek to explain, among other things, our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal information. To assist you with understanding our processes, policies and practices, we have provided answers to questions that you may find most important:

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DOES ELEMENT FLOORING COLLECT?

We collect personal information such as your contact information (e.g., name, phone number, e-mail address), billing/shipping information (e.g., credit card number, shipping or home address), and/or your personal preferences (e.g., product wish-lists, hobbies, likes and dislikes relating to the products we may sell). When submitting personal information on an online form, we will identify which fields are required in order to fulfill your request. Additionally, our Web server automatically collects click-stream information such as the address (or “URL”) of the website that you came from before visiting our site, which pages you visit on our site, which browser you used to view our site and any search terms you have entered on our site.

WHEN DOES ELEMENT FLOORING COLLECT THE INFORMATION?

While shopping or taking advantage of services available at Element Flooring, we may ask that you provide certain information about yourself. For example, we request personal information when you set up an account online, purchase products or services, schedule delivery or installation, join a frequent buyer program, participate in a sweepstakes, promotion or survey, contact Element Flooring with a question or concern, submit a review, apply for employment with Element Flooring, or participate in other activities. In addition, when using our Sites, our servers may collect click-stream information as described above. Element Flooring may also use third-party providers of customer information to improve the accuracy of our customer database, to increase our understanding of our customers or to identify potential customers.

HOW DOES ELEMENT FLOORING USE THE INFORMATION?

We use the information you provide in order to 1) fulfill and process requests for products, services or information, 2) administer shopping or reward club accounts, 3) provide customer services, 4) administer sweepstakes or promotions, 5) offer new products and services, 6) measure and improve the effectiveness of our Sites, our marketing endeavors or our services and offers, 7) tailor our online or in-store offerings to your preferences, 8) administer surveys, 9) send marketing communications from us or third parties in which we feel you may be interested in, (10) protect against and prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions, (11) enforce agreements and legal requirements, (12) alert you about product issues, and (13) for other legally permissible purposes.

2. COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

Non-personal information may be collected in a variety of ways, but Collection Technology is often used. “Collection Technology” refers to cookies, web beacons, pixels, gifs, tags and other technologies that collect information in similar ways. Collection technology such as a cookie is a small data file that a website may send to your browser and which may then be stored on your hard drive. Our Sites use cookies to simulate a continuous connection – cookies let us “remember” information about your preferences and session, and allow you to move within areas of our Sites without reintroducing yourself.

Our Web server automatically collects the address of the website that you came from before visiting our Sites, which browser you used to view our Sites and any search terms you have entered on our Sites.

Our Sites may also use other technologies to track which pages on our Sites our visitors view. This data helps us understand how visitors use our Sites.

3. CONTACT FORMS

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

4. EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

5. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

6. WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

7. WHERE WE SEND YOUR DATA

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
